Warm Greetings from Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow. It gives me immense pleasure to connect with you all with this brief note detailed below and inviting you all for a great opportunity to participate and learn in the seminar titled “Engineering Education Seminar: Empowering Next Generation Engineers.”
Industry experts underscore a significant disparity between the skills demanded by evolving job roles and the skill sets possessed by potential candidates. The future of work necessitates a comprehensive approach to education, requiring educators to strike a balance between hands-on skills development and education. This equilibrium ensures. that graduates are well-prepared to contribute to implementing more efficient workflows and processes.
Therefore, part of the Mechanical Engineering Education (MEEd) initiative of the ASME Engineering Education, the ASME India office in association with Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow is organizing a one-day Engineering Education Seminar on “Empowering the Next Generation Engineers”. The seminar is targeted for Educationists (Chairperson of Engineering Colleges) and Academia (Principals/Directors of all Engineering Colleges, HOD/Deans of Core Engineering branches and Placement Officers of Engineering Colleges across Uttar Pradesh). The seminar would help in understanding the emerging industry scenario and prepare imparting commensurate training tostudents for quality placements in core engineering professions.
The role of core engineers will evolve significantly over the next 5-10 years. These engineers will play pivotal roles in developing products designed for manufacturability, emphasizing leaner, smarter, and more sustainable solutions. This shift is expected to spawn innovative business models rooted in intelligent product iterations. Core engineering skills will expand beyond their traditional boundaries and create products with modular features that extend the product lifecycle.
This seminar is being organised on April 30, 2024, at Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow. The seminar aims to further bolster engineering education to continue deploying core engineering industry-ready engineers. in the evolving industry landscape.
